The Story Behind Iyanu
A miracle born from the hardest year of my life
In 2019, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Chemotherapy saved my life — and took my hair. As it began to grow back, I searched for a product that would actually nurture what I'd lost. I couldn't find one that worked for me.
So I created my own. Drawing from African botanical traditions — Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Chebe powder, and rosemary extract — I formulated an oil that brought my hair back stronger than before.
When I shared it with other women going through similar journeys, the response was overwhelming. That's when I knew Iyanu was bigger than me. Iyanu means miracle in Yoruba. Because that's what it felt like.
